- Bayfield Transfer Station hours and operations
La Plata County offers residents a yard waste collection site located at the Bayfield Convenience Center at 4496 CR 223 that provides local residents disposal of their dry, brown yard waste such as tree trimmings, slash, pine needles, and tree trunks. Please do not bring grass clippings or sagebrush. Consider combining trips by bringing your recyclables and dry, brown yard waste to drop off when you get your mulch. The accumulated yard waste is mulched and made available to County residents, free of charge. Residents must load their own mulch, but the County tries to offer two free mulch loading days in the spring and fall. For additional information, call (970) 382-6376 or visit the station website.
